Garlinge Primary School and Nursery working with UNICEF

Our school has been very busy working on a new project with UNICEF focussing on rights and responsibilities. We as a school are very excited to be starting our journey with the Rights Respecting Schools Award and there will be lots of news to follow. If you would like to look at the work that UNICEF RRSA already does and what it is all about, please follow the link below:

At the start of term 3, our Garlinge pupils had the opportunity, during special KS1 and KS2 assemblies, to share their classes chosen Rights Respecting Schools 'Rights' The children had worked hard in class discussing the key forty-five United Nations Convention Rights of the Child. They then narrowed these down to their chosen four, which would present their class Charter. Although all of the Rights are extremely important to the welfare of each and every child across the world, our children wanted to choose and take ownership of their own four which they felt reflected their individual class. It was wonderful to watch and listen to the children explaining how and why they made their choices as a class team.
