At Garlinge we have a school council to help children have a greater say over matters that affect their school and wider lives.
All representatives are elected by their peers at the beginning of the school year and hold their post from September - July.
Members meet once a week to discuss various issues and offer solutions to these after consulting with their classes. Every pupil is able to share their ideas or concerns through their school council representative and many do!
In the past the school council has been involved in: interviewing candidates for the deputy head teacher's position, selecting playground equipment, choosing house names and meeting with Thanet County Council to see how a 'real' council is run.
They are an important and valued part of Garlinge Primary School and Nursery.
