As the children of class 6D were unable to attend their end of year 6 ‘Festival’ yesterday evening
and take part in our usual ‘traditions’ associated with leaving Garlinge, we as a school would like to
invite the children to their own separate class celebration event on Monday 2nd August from 10am
until 12pm.
This event will take place on the year 6 playground, weather permitting and will provide the
children with an opportunity to say goodbye properly to their class friends. They will also have a
chance to sign each other’s shirts and autograph books, collect any personal belongings that they
may have left at school, be presented with any trophies that they may have been awarded and to
collect the gifts that we as a school have purchased for them to thank them for all of their hard
work during their time at Garlinge. The school will also provide some food and refreshments for
the children to enjoy, as well as some music and light entertainment.
In order for this event to run smoothly, please can children enter via the year 6 gate and bring with
them a suitable pen and white shirt for the other children in their class to sign. Parents and carers
will need to collect their children from the year 6 gate at 12pm or will need to provide a note to say
that their child is allowed to walk home on their own.
The children have worked so incredibly hard in school and have shown great resilience to deal with
the difficult circumstances that this year has presented. We would very much like the opportunity
to see them in person to say goodbye and to wish them well for the future.
We hope that all children in the class will be able to attend this event to enjoy one last time
together as a class.
