Year 2 Enjoy a Visit from Creepy Claws - 06 Jul 2026

Year 2 had an exciting and memorable visit from Michael at Creepy Claws this week. Michael brought along a fascinating collection of animals and shared his extensive knowledge with the children during a 45-minute session in each class.

The children had the opportunity to meet a variety of creatures, including Tango the crested gecko, Marilyn the Mexican blonde tarantula, Iris the African pygmy hedgehog, a giant hissing cockroach, a scorpion, Harry the snake and Millie the giant African millipede. Michael shared many interesting facts about each animal, helping the children learn about their habitats, diets, behaviours and unique adaptations.

One of the highlights of the visit was the chance for the children to interact with the animals up close. Those who wished to do so were able to carefully touch some of the creatures, which helped many children overcome their fears and develop a greater appreciation for animals they may not usually encounter.

The sessions were engaging, educational and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The children asked thoughtful questions and demonstrated great curiosity throughout the visit. We would like to thank Michael from Creepy Claws for providing such an informative and hands-on learning experience for Year 2.
