small donation and the proceeds from the sales are put back into the school.

The next uniform sale will be held on Monday 9th Decembe in the KS2 hall – from 3:15pm.

All items of uniform will be available in various sizes for 50p or £1. If you would like to donate any old uniform, please could you remove any names and drop it off at the office or contact us at ptfa.garlinge@gmail.com.

Christmas Unwrapped Year 6 Trip

Year 6 will be visiting St James’ Church, Garlinge on the morning of Tuesday 10th December, as part of their work in RE and Christmas activities.
The children will be walking to and from the church, so please ensure that your child is wearing sensible shoes and has a waterproof coat in case of inclement weather. Please may we ask the children to wear full school uniform on the day as well. We will be returning to school in time for lunch.
All of our year 6 children have off-site permission forms completed by yourselves earlier in the year, so we do not require you to complete a separate permission slip for the trip.
If you do have any other questions that you wish to ask, please do come and speak to one of us in school.

Nursery Parent Session at Forest School

On Tuesday 10th December 2019, we would like to invite parents and carers to come along and work alongside your child and their class.  This will be an opportunity to come and take part in a Winter themed Forest School session. Due to numbers on site we are only able to accommodate one parent or carer and no younger siblings.

You will need to make your own way to the Forest School site and I ask you to meet us in the car park at the site at Quex Park by 10:00am to allow us to meet you and take you to the group.  If you arrive any later than this, we will not be able to take you to the group as the site needs to be secured.  The car park is situated in the large paddock on the right hand side as you enter Quex Park and before you arrive at Quex House.  Forest School suggest you park on the lower end of the paddock as this isn’t used as much.

At the end of the session you will be able to take your child home if you wish, otherwise we will return to school and you can collect your child as normal.  We ask you to indicate on the form below whether you intend to take your child directly from Forest School so we can arrange transport back to school.

You will need to bring a lunch with you and ensure you are suitably dressed for the weather.  Long trousers and sleeves are recommended; sensible footwear is essential.  Staff have asked us to remind you that the site is no smoking.

We are looking forward to seeing you at this session and are sure that you will enjoy working with your child.

Many thanks for your continued support and we are looking forward to an exciting day together

Reception Christmas Party

This year’s Christmas party will be on Thursday 12th December 2019.

We will be having party games and dancing throughout the day. In the afternoon we will have some party food. Can we ask your child to bring something in for the party that we will then share with all the children?

Please ensure that none of the foods contain nuts as we are a nut free school.

The children can wear party clothes however, can you please ensure that they are warm enough and suitable for a day in school. Also can we ask for the children to wear flat shoes suitable for disco dancing!

Year 6 Christmas Party

The year 6 Christmas party will be held on the afternoon of Monday 16th
December.

Your child may wear their party clothes to school on the day; please may we
request however, that this includes suitable footwear and clothing warm
enough for outside playtimes.

This year, each year 6 class will be sorting themselves into groups of
approximately 6 and will plan their own: party food menu, table dressing and
place mats, etc. We will be giving the children some time this week to plan in
their groups. We will also be reminding children not to bring in any food that
may contain or have come into contact with nuts, as is our school policy.
Your child will be able to tell you at the weekend what they will be bringing in
for their group. Each class teacher will award a Christmas prize to the best
‘dressed’ Christmas theme table which will make the festivities good fun!
Would you please label any food containers that you wish to be returned. If
your child has any food allergies that we are not already aware of, please do let
us know before the day.

Year 2 Christmas Party

Year 2 Christmas parties will be taking place during the afternoon of Monday 16th December 2019.
Please could your child bring the highlighted food:

Please may we request that any food products provided are nut free and that you ensure we are made aware of any food allergies. It would also be most helpful if any food containers are clearly labelled if you wish for them to be returned.

Your child may come to school dressed in their party clothes. We do request, however, that this includes suitable footwear and clothing warm enough for outside playtimes.

Year 4 Christmas Party

We are currently making preparations for our Christmas celebrations at
Garlinge and we are writing to inform you of the arrangements for the Year 4
Christmas Party.

The party will take place during the afternoon of Tuesday 17th December. On
the day, your child may come to school dressed in their party clothes. We do
request, however, that this includes suitable footwear and clothing warm
enough for outside playtimes.

This year, each year 4 class will be organising themselves into groups of
approximately 6 to plan their own party food menu and decorations for their
table. We find this a very popular activity, where children are encouraged to
use a range of skills when working as part of a team. There will be a prize in
each class for the ‘best dressed table’. We will also take into account how well
children have worked together to make the festivities good fun!

Please may we request that any food products provided are nut free and that
you ensure that we are made aware of any food allergies. It would also be
most helpful if any food containers are clearly labelled if you wish for them to
be returned.

This will be an opportunity for you to see and join in with different craft activities that your children do
when they are with us. We will then finish the session with a story time for you all to enjoy with your
child.
